Brewing news Russia & Baltic States: Baltika’s exports to Estonia increased by 31% in January-September 2006

Baltika reported that beer exports to Baltic States in January-September 2006 increased by 25% year-on-year. The brewer posted a 31% improvement of beer deliveries to Estonia, which reached 9,200 hl, The Russian Brewers Union reported November 16.

The brewer has shipped more than 43,200 hl to Baltic States within the first 9 months of 2006. Exports of Baltika Nr.0 and Baltika Nr.5 Golden have boosted by 46% (3,000 hl) and 65% (630 hl) respectively.

Soslan Kulchiev who handles Baltika’s sales to Baltic States commented: “Baltic countries and Estonia in particularly represent a very attractive market for us. Because of a high drinking culture and a very strong demand of good quality products, the popularity of our Baltika Nr.0 and Baltika Nr. 5 has steadily increased. The same thing can be said about our new brand Baltika Cooler which was offered to Estonian beer drinkers in 2006.”

According to preliminary estimations, by the end of 2006 Baltika will control about 22% of the imported beer segment in Estonia.
